Saving Beehives With Thermal Camera
Beekeepers are increasingly turning to thermal imaging to help them care for their bees and Saving beehives, especially during winter. Master beekeeper Rusty Burlew, who writes and maintains the beekeeping site Honey Bee Suite, has been using a FLIR ONE for several years, and highly recommends investing in a thermal camera for beekeeping.
“In the past few years, the number of electronic devices for beekeepers has mushroomed,” Burlew says. “I’ve frequently been asked to test these new devices, so I have quite a bit of experience with them. But bottom line, the only one I use on a regular basis is an infrared camera.”
